Hazardous waste facility to close for season Monday

(WKTV) - The Oneida-Herkimer Household Hazardous Waste Facility will close for the season on Monday.

The facility is located at the end of Leland Avenue in Utica and is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Residents of Oneida and Herkimer Counties may dispose of oil-based and latex paints, herbicides, pesticides, cleaners, chemicals and other household hazardous waste through Monday.

Electronics, televisions, computer equipment, propane cylinders under 100 pounds, fluorescent light bulbs and other items are accepted year-round.
