(WKTV) - When it comes to business, this region is on its way up.
That was the message at the 46th Annual Herkimer County Chamber of Commerce Luncheon. More than 200 business representatives and dignitaries attended the luncheon.
Three local businesses received awards for their success in the community. Weber Septic and Sewer Services, Mohawk Valley Diamond Dawgs and the chief executive officer of Valley Health won Visionary Individual of the Year.
The executive director of the chamber says things will just keep getting better.
"With the Nano Center coming in, this region is poised to go forward and we need to consider Oneida County-Herkimer County as a region, not a line drawn in the sand," said John Scarano of the Herkimer County Chamber of Commerce. "So with all that said, I think we're poised to do well. I believe that."
The luncheon had its largest attendance ever this year. Scarano said the keynote speaker was a big draw because of his vision for the area.
