Herkimer County Legislators call for resolution of ongoing issues

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Herkimer County Legislators Gary Hartman, and Helen Rose said that the ongoing jail debate has divided people living in the County for long enough, Wednesday, during a news conference on the matter.

The Democratic Minority of the Herkimer County Legislature asked State Comptroller Thomas Di Napoli to address whether money should be used to build a new multi-million dollar jail, or board out inmates.

The Democratic Minority of the Legislature believe that they currently do not posses fair representation, as there is an absence of democrats on certain committees.

They said that they would like to see the financial decisions on the jail issue and equal representation resolved, when the new session begins in January.
