(WKTV) - Herkimer County Public Health is looking for health care volunteers to help with future emergency response events.
During the severe flooding in the summer, Herkimer County Public Health, with the help of statewide volunteers, administered Tdap shots to affected community members. The Serv/NY volunteer management system is a web-based registry of those who make themselves available to assist during an emergency.
Licensed health care professionals willing to respond to a disaster, either locally, statewide or nationwide, are encouraged to register.
Registration is open to any health care or mental health professional, as well as laypeople willing to serve in administrative or support roles during public health emergencies.
To learn more and register, visit www.nyhealth.gov/servny?prog=27. For more information, call Herkimer County Volunteer Coordinator Diane Ward at (315) 867-1610 or e-mail at email@example.com.
