Herkimer man charged for allegedly selling heroin

HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Herkimer man was charged Thursday morning for allegedly selling heroin.

According to Herkimer Police, Benjamin A. Janes, 27 has been charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.

Police say the arrest is the result of an ongoing investigation involving an increase in the distribution of heroin in the village.

Janes was arraigned in village court and committed to the Herkimer County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.

Police were assisted in the investigation by the Herkimer County District Attorney's Office and say that additional arrests are pending.
