Hobby Lobby officially open for business

By WKTV News

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - Despite hard economic times across the nation, a business that's been expanding nationally had its grand opening on Monday.

Hobby Lobby sells all kinds of home décor, fabrics and other knicknacks for the home, and they've opened up shop on Commercial Drive where the Old Navy store used to be.

District Supervisor for the Store, Troy Moore, says business has been good so far here and across the country.

"We had a great year last year, considering the economic downturn that we had," Moore said. "We've opened 27 stores already this year, the 6th this year. We're just looking to expand our market up here."

Moore also says that since they are owned by a Christian-based company, they close on Sundays in order to give employees time to attend church services.
