Hydrofracking debate front and center at Ommegang benefit concert

By WKTV News

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (WKTV) - The debate over whether or not the practice of hydrofracking is safe or not is heating up, and Friday night in Cooperstown, there's a concert being held to raise money to fight shale gas hydrofracking in upstate.

1960's folk rock icon Levon Helm, formerly of "the band" and Arlo Guthrie are in concert at the brewery, and much like the 60's, they're singing for a cause.

The Ommegang Brewery is very concerned about the effects hydrofracking could have on its water, and eventually its beer brewing operation. So they've opened up the facility to music and environmental speakers.
