Ilion Police Department takes Ice Bucket Challenge

By WKTV News

(WKTV) - The latest participants in the Ice Bucket Challenge are the Ilion Police Department.

The brothers in blue loaded buckets with cold water and ice, and together accepted the challenge to strike out ALS. In turn, they are challenging the local village police departments and the Ilion Fire Department.

The president for the Police Benevolent Association says it's a great cause and they were happy to get their members together to raise awareness and donate.

"We're going to make a $200 donation, so we're asking the other police agencies to do the same," said Matt Darrow, president of the PBA.

The National ALS Foundation has raised $4 million since the campaign kicked off on July 29.
