Infant airlifted to hospital after Amish buggy accident

HARRISBURG, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Lewis County Sheriff's Department says a motor vehicle and an Amish buggy carrying a woman and a baby, were involved in an accident Tuesday morning.

Deputies say the female driver of the buggy suffered injuries to her leg, but the infant was airlifted to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse with serious head and internal injuries.

The driver of the motor vehicle was not injured.

The accident happened at 7:51 a.m.

The crash remains under investigation with charges pending.
