(WKTV) - The Oneida County Office for the Aging/Continuing Care Council will have an informational meeting from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at the Whitestown Community Center in Whitesboro.
The program will be presented by Statewide Senior Action Council of Albany.
Transportation will be provided from senior centers in Utica and Rome. In Utica, the bus will leave the North Utica Community Center at 11:45 a.m., the Parkway Center at noon, the Westside Senior Center at 12:15 p.m. and the New Hartford Senior Center at 12:30 p.m.
In Rome, the bus will leave the Ava Dorfman Senior Center at 12:15 p.m. and the South Rome Senior Center at 12:30. There is ample parking for attendees who wish to drive. Light refreshments will be provided.
The discussion will focus on information to help patients prepare for a successful stay in the hospital, planning to help avoid problems, complications or possible readmissions. The topic of Medicare coverage for care will be addressed, including a hospital stay and after a discharge.
