Otsego County inmate facing terroristic charge

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV)-- A former Oneonta resident, who is now an inmate at the Otsego County Correctional Facility, was charged with making a terroristic threat, a felony.

Authorities said, back in January, 28-year-old Timur Mustafa Demirel told other inmates that he wanted to blow up the Otsego County Office Building in Cooperstown and kill the people who worked there.

Demeril was already serving a sentence for possessing a weapon while on probation.

He now faces up to another seven years in prison if convicted.
