UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - You can take a walk back in time from 1699 through the 1920's at the Children's Museum in Utica. On display now is the Erie Canal Exhibit.

It's a new addition located on the second floor of the museum.

It provides children with an interactive look at how boats went up and down the canal delivering goods along the way.

Marlene Brown, said, " I've wanted an interactive Erie Canal exhibit for some time because as you know, it's a big deal for kids in school and it's a big part of our history of New York State."

The new interactive exhibit is in addition to the artifacts that were already on display.

There is also an informational movie to learn even more facts about the history of the waterway.
