International culture found at Oneida elementary school

By WKTV News

(WKTV) - Children in Oneida got a taste of international cuisine and culture Thursday as part of a culture fest.

For 12 years, North Broad Elementary School has had the event, where presenters from different countries come and talk to the children. Some even bring food from around the world. Many of the presenters are foreign exchange students from the high school.

"They'll do a presentation and show them what the money looks like in their country, or what some of the landmarks look like," said Heidi Rush, a teacher at North Broad Elementary. "They get to see all of that on the smart boards, which is interesting for them."

The theme of February at the school is diversity.
