UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Irish flag is now flying high over Utica City Hall, as the city inches another day closer to the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade.

Bagpipes led the way to the flag pole Wednesday afternoon, and a prayer was also said at the flag raising ceremony.

Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri was joined by parade Grand Marshal Patrick Costello who did the honors, and raised the flag into the air.

36 million Americans claim Irish heritage, but on St. Patrick's Day, everyone is Irish.
