Irish flag raised, first responders honored at St. Patrick's Day ceremony

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - First responders were honored Friday at a St. Patrick's Day celebration in New Hartford.

It all began with a special Irish flag raising ceremony at the New Hartford Senior Center, followed by seniors enjoying some Irish entertainment, provided by local third graders.

"It's become a great tradition in the village and town of New Hartford, and the town and village support it very well," said Village Mayor Donald Ryan.

The tradition dates back 25 years.
