By KEITH HUNT

OLD FORGE, N.Y. (WKTV) - For winter enthusiasts, this snow is very much welcome. Old Forge is feeling the brunt of the storm.

There's a thin white line this time of year that separates Oneida county from the North Country and you can really see it on days like today. And it is weather conditions like this that brings it all together.

With this latest snowfall, snow seekers from all over the country make it a multimillion dollar business here in Herkimer County alone, Nanette Shovea, manager of Mountain Man Sports, in Old Forge, said "There are smiles on everybody's face, they get out and enjoy it in the many ways we do it in the mountains."

There are many repeat customers, like Poughkeepsie resident Gasper Lapiatra, who is up with his family enjoying the trails and says, "There's all kinds of restaurants you can go to on your sled you can go to a gas station on your sled, you can go out to dinner on your sled and you can do anything on your sled."

That snow-maker to our west that produces this lake effect snow did not disappoint anyone, it did make for some nervous weeks. Mike Farmer, tourism director for the Town of Webb said "All of this snow we're getting now, it's just building by the hours and it's going to be tremendous."

With a record of close to 400 inches of snow hard to catch, everyone here is enjoying this year's race.
