Jeffrey Hardware Aution

By WKTV News

UTICA, N.Y.(WKTV) An auction took place in Utica Saturday for the sale of the former Jeffrey Hardware building.

The six story brick building downtown went for just over $82,500.

The rules of the auction, the property would sell to the highest bidder, regardless of the price, and as it is.

After the building auction, all the hardware inventory inside was put up for bid.

"There's brand new tools here. And yet there are historic items like a bow maker here," says June Delair. "So when somebody would come in to buy a gift, the store manager could make up a bow for the package."

The former owner Donald B. Jeffrey died at 92.
