DECISION 2011 (WKTV) - The Democrat candidate has declared victory in the 116th District Assembly Race, just moments after his opponent conceded the race.

In spite of a mathematically certain victory, Anthony Brindisi was hesitant to declare victory over Republican Greg Johnson until now, saying he wanted to wait until all the votes were counted.

"I recently received a call from Greg Johnson congratulating me on my victory," Brindisi said in a released statement Wednesday. "I'm truly humbled by the trust the voters have placed in me. I promise that I will work as hard as I can to help create more good-paying private sector jobs, fight for our fair share of education funding, and work on cutting wasteful spending out of the budget. Now it's time to come together and get to work for Mohawk Valley families."
