(WKTV) - Less than a week removed from a severe storm rolling through the area causing major damage in towns such as West Winfield, Brookfield, and Richfield Springs, another act of mother nature tore through the region, Tuesday.
Severe Thunderstorms made their way through the viewing area around 6:15 p.m., sparking tornado warnings, dozens of reports of trees and power lines down.
Thousands of National Grid customers were left in the dark. Damage was reported area wide from Sylvan Beach all the way to Oriskany Falls and most locations in between.
The biggest concentration of power outages is in the City of Rome, City of Utica, and parts of the town of Verona.
As of 8:00pm, more than 12,000 Oneida County residents were without power with close to 1,000 in Herkimer County also without power.
