COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Otsego County Board of Representatives has voted to create a Local Development Corporation to handle the sale of the financially plagued Otsego Manor.
Officials say the manor is costing the county roughly $176 a day for every person that lives at the assisted living facility.
The resolution to form the LDC passed Wednesday by a vote of 11 to 3.
Those who voted 'no' on the forming of an LDC were District 8's John Kosmer (representing Otsego, District 9's Keith McCarty (representing Richfield and Springfield) and District 11's Gary Koutnik (representing the City of Oneonta).
Three individuals make up the LDC currently, two of which are Board of Representative members and the third a legal contractor, but the board clerk says more are expected to be appointed.
The CSEA, which represents about 200 workers at the facility, has previously said if the board sought this action to handle the manor, they would pursue legal action.
