Last bus expected to roll off Orion assembly line Monday

By WKTV News

ORISKANY, N.Y. (WKTV) - Orion Bus in Oriskany may have rolled its last bus off of the assembly line on Monday, but company officials have not returned calls to confirm.

In April, it was announced that the hundreds of workers at Orion in Oriskany would be laid off as its parent company, Daimler, got out of the bus production business.

Recently, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced $800,000 in grants to help train some of those laid off from Orion. The Governor's Office and the Labor Department have not returned calls as of this writing to whether there is any assistance for employees of companies who manufactured parts for Orion that were laid off as a result of Orion's end of production.
