NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - Some young baseball players who play under the American Legion banner got to see first-hand Tuesday what that really means.

Players met and visited with disabled veterans in Sitrin Home's rehab program Tuesday in New Hartford and also got to meet Sitrin staff who are veterans.

The American Legion officials who organized the meeting brought baseballs for autographs.

"We wanted the players to ask for autographs of the people that make this possible for them for, since 1925,"said Adrean Post 625 Commander Michael Macchione.

The American Legion Championships take place Wednesday through Sunday at Murnane Field in Utica.
