Lights of Love Service remembers loved ones lost

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The St.Elizabeth Medical Center Foundation held its 12th annual Lights of Love Candle Lighting and Remembrance Service Wednesday. This year the service was held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church to accommodate the growing number of people who come to the event.

Almost 200 people came to this year's service. Each candle lit represents a contribution received in memory or in honor of a loved one.

"They each have their own specialized story whether a parent who passed away, we have some that are honoring their children that have passed away, it's kind of a sad time but they're making these gifts in memory of folks that have been special to them but at the same time doing something to benefit the medical center and really help others," said Andrea LaGatta Director of Development for St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Proceeds from Lights of Love will benefit the purchase of Neurostar angiography equipment for patients dealing with peripheral vascular disease.
