UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The state liquor authority issued an emergency suspension of Two J's at 615 Rutger St. in Utica. The suspension was ordered Tuesday morning after a NYS Liquor Authority meeting.

It states, effective immediately, no alcohol may be consumed or served on the premises.

On January 18th, Utica Police responded to a report of shots fired. Utica Police found 23-year-old Andre Oliver- Kenney dead in the parking lot.

Police at the scene reported the bar had no security on duty to handle the crowd the night of the homicide.

Additional reports provided to the SLA by UPD show officers have been summoned several times over the past year to respond to fights, patrons with guns, gunshots, crowd dispersing and damage to vehicles.

The liquor authority charged the bar with four violations of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Law.

Two J's was fined $6,000 in 2010 and $5,000 in 2013 for inadequate supervision.

It was also charged on December 13, 2013, with becoming a focal point for police attention. That case is pending.
