Local Farmer: Crops doing well due to soil

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The rather warm and dry summer may have been nice for many, but for farmers it has caused some problems.

Farmers at the Oneida County Public Market Saturday morning said crop harvests so far has been good. Nick Creszenzo of Crescenzo's Farm attributes it to his soil, and admits other farmers he's talked to have not had as good an output this year.

He said his sweet corn is the tastiest it has ever been. Creszenzo said, "The beans grew really good. We have a lot of great beans, cranberry beans. Cucumbers came well, peppers came well. Tomatoes could have been better, but we're doing ok."
