Local Italians remembering James Gandolfini

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Locally, the Italian community is mourning the death of James Gandolfini, especially at the Italian Heritage Club of the Mohawk Valley in Downtown Utica.

Bob Piperata, the chairman of the board, says Gandolfini did a great job portraying Tony Soprano but he was not at all like his character.

Piperata said, "My brother attended a wedding down in New York City where his niece got married. Not at all like the character in the Sopranos, he was a gentleman, a nice man. They all called him Jamie. He went around and talked to everyone just a regular Joe."
