Local business partners with Utica Chamber of Commerce

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A local business celebrated a brand new partnership with the Utica-area Chamber of Commerce, Wednesday.
"Daughter for Hire" offers companionship care for the elderly, which in turn, enables them to remain in their homes for longer than they might otherwise be able to.
The women who own the business realized the need for non-medical support in the home when they found themselves caring for elderly family members in recent years.
"Anything from running errands, helping them with doctor's appointments, making sure that they're eating properly, anything we can do to keep them happy and healthy in their own homes," said Daughters for Hire Co-Owner, Denise Filhan.

The company covers Oneida and Herkimer County homes, and in addition to providing companionship for the elderly, also works with recovering stroke victims and others with debilitating illnesses.
