HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - While the Olympics may be taking place all the way on the other side of the world right now, a local church gave children the opportunity to experience the thrill of the Games right here at home, Sunday.

The Oak Ridge Free Methodist Church held a day of fun following their services for members, complete with food, sledding, ice skating, and parking lot hockey.

"We have a national feast where people brought different ethnic foods of their choice," said Michele Maiorano, of the Children's Ministry team. "We had a big dinner inside the church, and had a blast in there, and just moved the festivities out here where we are having hockey, fire pits going, and hot chocolate."

The local Olympics were held for members of the Oak Ridge Church.
