ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. - A Holland Patent couple is dead and a Steuben couple in critical condition following a three-car crash near Tampa.

Charles Anken, 78, and his wife Georgianna Anken, 77, both of Holland Patent, died Sunday when the car they were riding in was hit head on, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Wayne Laribee, 75, and his wife, Elizabeth Laribee, 70, both of the town of Steuben, are in critical condition at Tampa General Hospital.

According to the NBC affiliate WFLA, the accident happened when a driver named Dustin Diaz swerved to avoid a stopped car on State Route 54 Sunday morning.  Authorities say Diaz still hit the car, then continued traveling into oncoming traffic, hitting the car carrying the Ankens and Laribees.

Another person in the car, Lavon Hartman, 90, of Zephyrhills, also died.
