WHITESBORO, N.Y. (WKTV) - A local man has his eyes set on a $1.5 million pot.
Al Zumpano, of Whitesboro, has his prized horse "Suns Out Guns Out" named after the show Jersey Shore on its way to South Carolina to compete in the Charleston Classic.
It's one of the most prestigious race in the country after the Breeder's cup and Triple Crown races.
"Suns Out Guns Out" came in fourth place at the Breeder's Cup last year.
"The biggest thrill is when we went to Breeder's Cup, there's no other Breeder's Cup in this area and we finished a strong fourth, said Zumpano. "We won more than a race we felt."
The Classic is on April 19 and will be broadcast on Horse Racing Channels at 10:30 p.m. that night.
