Local musicians play for peace in the Utica

By WKTV News

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The temperature outside may not have been too hot, Saturday, but Cornhill was sizzlin' at the 5th Annual Pre-summer Sizzle.
DJ's and three live bands played, as dozens of locals gathered for food, family and fun.
The event was held at Hanna Park with the goal of promoting peace.
The day began with a community wide prayer to discourage violence in the city and ended with performances by some of Utica's local talent.
"All these musicians are connected to this area," said Councilman Jerome McKinsey. "They are either from Utica, moved to Utica, and most of them live in and around Utica.
"So we bring in all local talent and showcase what we have to offer."

The event took place from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.
