Local residents treated to "old school" air show

By SPENCER DAVIDSON

FRANKFORT, N.Y. (WKTV) - Frankfort residents received a blast from the past, as a 1930's/1940's-style air show took place at Highland Airport, Saturday.

The 12th Annual Radio Control Airshow included combat demonstrations, giant scale aerobatics, clown flying acts, and vintage flying models, dazzling local residents on a beautiful day in August.

The air show is put together by a group of radio control aircraft enthusiasts, called the Mohawk Valley Firebirds, who believe that a show of this caliber is a great way to get the younger generation excited about what they consider an "old school" hobby.

Enthusiasts, families, and fans alike come out every year to see what new tricks the Firebirds have in store.

The event is free to attend.
