Local students bring life to Boilermaker weekend

By WKTV News

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Boilermaker weekend has already begun to show signs of its approach, Monday.
The 9th grade class at Notre Dame High School is currently putting together paper mache trees to be used as centerpieces at the annual Boilermaker Pasta Dinner.
The students started with cardboard tubes from paper towels, then added crunched-up brown postal wrapping paper for the branches.
They will be painted and have leaves.
It's the class's annual community service project and will take the kids a couple of weeks to complete.
The Boilermaker Pasta Dinner is an all-you-can-eat buffet that is being held Saturday, July 12th at MVCC from Noon-3 p.m.
The cost of the dinner is $7.
