Local students showcase talent at All State Music Fest

By SPENCER DAVIDSON

CLINTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - Clinton Central Schools hosted a music festival involving 300 students from 27 districts, Saturday.

The musicians came from local schools in Herkimer, Oswego, and Oneida Counties, who were selected during auditions over the spring/summer to participate in the event.

The students practiced for the first time yesterday, and also had one early this morning before performing their one and only concert later in the day.

"This event is critical and so important, it really demonstrates individual talent and dedication these students have," said Hilary Lopata of the All-State Music Festival. "These students were selected based on their auditions back in the spring. So these students worked as individuals to get to these ensembles, and now they came together and demonstrated real team work."

The event was put together through volunteer, parent, and parent organization support, along with the Clinton Central School District.
