Locals attend memorial service to commemorate Officer Lindsey

By WKTV News

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Hundreds came to mass at Lady of Lourdes Church on Genesee Street, Sunday morning.
The mass served as a memorial service for Utica Police Officer Thomas Lindsey, who was killed seven years ago yesterday, during a routine traffic stop.
Lindsey died at the age of 32.
"Tom was an outstanding example of a great Police Officer," said Mayor Robert Palmieri. "He represented the city well, himself well and his family well.
"It's a day you reflect a little bit about the pain  we all went through on that day."

Mayor Palmieri says this will continue to be an annual tradition to commemorate Lindsey and all fallen officers.
