Locals react to Hamlin's historic run on social media

(WKTV) - Remsen native Erin Hamlin became the first American to ever reach the Olympic podium in singles luge, ending a 50-year drought, Tuesday.

Following her historical run, people from around the Mohawk Valley took to social media to express their excitement over the accomplishment of our local hero.

    After becoming the first American woman to win the World Championships in 2009, Hamlin made history once again, etching herself in Olympic history and becoming the face of USA Luge. 
     
    With the whirlwind that has been surrounding her since the final run, Tuesday, the community could not be more excited for her, and couldn't be more proud of their fellow Central New Yorker.
