"I have had the privilege of serving all the citizens of Utica as an At Large member of Utica's Council and I have found it rewarding, challenging and enlightening. But, at this time I am looking forward to serving my family, friends and neighbors in the 6th Ward as their Council Representative."

Business owner, Philip Bruno, is also seeking the 6th Ward seat and has received the endorsement of the city's Republican Committee.

Utica College student Samantha Colosimo has also said she plans on running on the Republican ticket for the council's sixth ward.
