Lowville man in fair condition after Lewis County ATV accident

MONTAGUE, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Lowville man is listed in fair condition after an ATV accident in Lewis County on Sunday.

According to the Lewis County Sheriff's Office, Lawrence R. Bacon, 53, of Lowville was driving a Honda four-wheeler ATV northbound on Sears Pond Road in the Town of Montague when he struck a deer that had entered the roadway.

Authorities say the ATV overturned, ejecting Bacon and then rolling over him. He was taken to Lewis County General Hospital by Lewis County Search and Rescue and then transferred to Upstate Medical Center for his injuries.

Bacon was listed in fair condition at Upstate Medical Center on Monday morning.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by Search and Rescue and the New York State Police out of Lowville.
