UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Local luger and Olympic athlete Erin Hamlin is bringing her love of the sport to kids in Oneida County.

Starting on August 21, the county is holding four luge slider search clinics in Utica. It's for kids ages 11 to 14 to try out the sport on a controlled course. The county held the clinics last year and had 60 participate. Hamlin said she enjoys sharing her love of the luge with the kids.

"I love being able to bring it back and get kids involved in this area. It's an Olympic sport that doesn't always get the attention, and it's a pretty cool sport and a lot of fun to do," Hamlin said.

Two clinics are being held on August 21 and 22. They'll run from 9 am to 12 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm. There is no cost to register your kid for the clinics. To register, you can go to www.usaluge.org.
