MASH Camp introduces teens to medical career opportunities

By WKTV News

Utica, NY (WKTV) - A handful of middle school students with an interest in medical fields got their chance to get their feet wet.

It's the Medical Academy of Science and Health or MASH Camp at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

The students got to check out the inside of an ambulance and even look inside an emergency helicopter.

On Wednesday, they'll get to check out CT scan equipment.

Eleven students from all over Central New York are participating in this week's activities.

Admissions Coordinator for the College of Nursing Samantha Rouillier said, "MASH Camp gets students in the seventh and eighth grades the opportunity to get involved in fields so they're able to actually go throughout the hospital...and kind of get their feet wet."
