MVCC and MV Chamber team up for "Young Entrepreneurs Academy"

By HILARY LANE

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A new opportunity was announced Wednesday to help young students get in touch with their entrepreneurial spirit.

Mohawk Valley Community College and the Mohawk Valley Chamber of Commerce are teaming up to launch a program called "Yea!" or the "Young Entrepreneurs Academy."

The idea is to teach students about beginning their own businesses and connect them with local professionals in the area.

"There are many shining examples of local businesses and we want to encourage young people to understand there is a place for them and they can really make a difference," said Frank Duross of the Young Entrepeneurs Academy.

20 students will be accepted into the program and applications will be available for interested parents and students in the near future.
