UTICA, N.Y. - The Mohawk Valley Water Authority will be performing maintenance work on Wednesday, April 18 at 8 a.m. Due to the work, there will be a water outage on the following streets in the city of Utica:

  • Culver Avenue, between Rutger Street and South Street
  • Ward Street
  • Redfield Avenue
  • Poe Street

The Water Authority advises residents to store water for drinking prior to the water outage. Once the water outage ends, residents are advised to check their water before doing laundry, and not to use hot water if their cold water is discolored.

The maintenance work is scheduled to be completed by Noon, at which time hydrant flushing will begin in the area to clear up any discolored water.

Water Authority officials stress that there is no boil water advisory at this time due to the maintenance work.
