Man accused of firing gun near state police barracks

(WKTV) - A Richfield Springs man faces several charges after he allegedly fired a gun near the New York State Police Barracks, authorities said.

Thomas F. Krietsch, 27, of the 2000 block of County Route 26, is charged with reckless endangerment in the second degree, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, possessing a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle and discharging a firearm over a roadway.

According to state police, Krietsch allegedly fired a gun around 12:21 a.m. near the barracks on State Route 20 in Richfield Springs.

He was arraigned in the Town of Richfield Court and sent to the Otsego county Jail.

State police were assisted by the Otsego County Sheriff's Department and the Village of Cooperstown Police.
