Man arrested for allegedly attempting to choke wife

ILION, N.Y.(WKTV) - Police have arrested an Ilion man after a domestic dispute that ended in an alleged assault.

They say 35-year-old Toby Baerman of John Street assaulted his wife, choked her, and then would not let her leave their home.

Baerman faces assault charges, unlawful imprisonment charges, criminal obstruction of breathing, and endangering the welfare of a child.

He's being held at the Herkimer County Correctional Facility on $2,000 cash bail.
