Man arrested for allegedly stealing nearly $3,000 in men's suits from Macy's

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y (WKTV) - Police have charged a Rochester man with grand larceny for stealing nearly $3,000 worth of men's suits from Macy's at Sangertown Square Mall.

It happened Friday night just before 9 p.m.

Michael Gissendanner 57, of Rochester, was observed by security entering the store, selecting six men's suits, totaling $2,775 in value, concealing them in large plastic bags, and walking out, according to police.

He made no attempt to pay for the concealed items.

As he was exiting the store, mall security approached him.

Further investigation revealed, Gissendanner was also wanted out of the New Hartford Police department regarding an active bench warrant for failure to pay a fine streaming from a prior larceny charge.
