Man arrested for attempting to promote prison contraband

NORWICH, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Chenango County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest man for promotion of prison contraband, Saturday.

According to officials, Jeremy S. Hazard, of Smyra, N.Y., was arrested after being found to be in possession of marijuana while entering the Chenango County Correctional Facility on September 26.

He is being charged with Promoting Prison Contraband in the 2nd degree, was arraigned in the Town of Norwich Courts, and is currently being held on $1,000 cash bail.

Hazard is set to reappear in the Town of Norwich Court to answer the charges at a later date.
