Man charged with leaving the scene of an accident in Lewis County

MARTINSBURG, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Lewis County man is facing charges after admitting to leaving the scene of an accident in the Town of Martinsburg.

According to the Lewis County Sheriff's Office, John Joslyn, 49, of Glenfield, was sriving south on State Route 12 in the Town of Martinsburg when he was involved in a property damage accident with another southbound vehicle.

Authorities said Joslyn did not stop after the accident, but the other motorist was able to provide police with a description and partial plate number and the truck was located on Otter Creek Road.

Joslyn admitted to deputies that he was the driver of the truck involved int he accident and he was charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident, reckless driving, and unlawful possession of marijuana.

He was issued appearance tickets and released.
