Man charged for allegedly stabbing girlfriend

B>UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Utica Police say 23-year-old Nizam Rascic stabbed his girlfriend with a large kitchen knife early Sunday morning. The woman suffered injuries to her finger, forearm, and shoulder blade. She was also treated for several bruises on her arms and back, and a swollen eyebrow.

Rascic is charged with Assault, 2nd degree, Menacing, 2nd degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon, 4th degree.

It happened just before 6 a.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of Hammond Avenue.

The victim was treated at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center.
