(WKTV) - A Mohegan Lake man faces charges after the culmination of a multi-year investigation into heroin and oxycodone powder trafficking in and around Otsego County, the Otsego County's Sheriff Department said.

Nicholas Michael Torres, 22, is charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance.

According to authorities, in 2011 Torres allegedly distributed narcotics for the Jose "Flip" Rodriguez heroin drug trafficking organization, under the direction of then-directer Jamele Baez. On Oct. 30, 2011, an informant allegedly purchased oxycodone powder from Torres in the Southside Mall parking lot in the Town of Oneonta.

The investigation was part of a four-year multi-agency investigation that has led to the arrest of more than 30 individuals.

Torres was arrested Tuesday on an arrest warrant during a traffic stop in the Town of Carmel. He was sent to the Otsego County jail on $25,000 bail.
