Man facing drug charges after traffic stop in Lewis County

MARTINSBURG, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Lewis County man has been charged after a K9 discovered drugs in his possession during a routine traffic stop in Martinsburg.

According to the Lewis County Sheriff's Office, Dustin R. King, 27, of Greig was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for a traffic violation on State Route 26 in Martinsburg on Monday night just after 8 p.m.

Authorities say after a search by K9 Wyman, a quantity of marijuana and several controlled substance pills (Vicodin and Alprazolam) were located.

King was charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of having a controlled substance in a non-original container and unlawful possession of marijuana.

He will face the charges in Martinsburg Town Court at a later date.

New York State Police assisted with the traffic stop.
